Important Information pertaining to the purchase of Microsoft Office Professional Plus

  1. Please note that Microsoft recommend you install the 32-BIT version of Office due to incompatibility issues with third party add-ins.

  2. Please be advised that to avoid any conflicts, you MUST uninstall any copies/versions of Microsoft Office (or associated products such as Word), including trial/starter versions, from the machine you’re purchasing the software for, BEFORE you download or install from a purchased DVD.

  3. Please note we are unable to refund the purchase of a digital download so it is vital that you read the following information BEFORE purchasing. See our refund policy for more information.

  4. Please ensure that BEFORE you purchase this product that it is the correct product for your requirement.
If you are unsure, please call us on 01727 201890.

  5. If you are not computer literate or are in any way uncomfortable about downloading and installing software to your machine, then we recommend you purchase the copy of Office that comes with a physical DVD.  You can find this product at: http://viglen.software2.co.uk/microsoft-office-professional-plus-2010.html

  6. Please be reminded that this product (whether you purchase the physical DVD or digital download) only allows for two installations/activations on a single physical machine.

  7. Unfortunately we cannot accept orders without appropriate proof of eligibility.  Please refer to the Microsoft Eligibility tab for details.

  8. When entering your 25-digit volume licence activation key, you MUST enter this manually. Please do not cut/copy and paste this key in.

  9. Installation and Use Rights.

    • Licensed Device.  Before you use the software under a license, you must assign that license to one device (physical hardware system).  That device is the ”licensed device.”  A hardware partition or blade is considered to be a separate device.

      • You may install and use any number of copies of the software and of any prior version of the software on the licensed device.

      • Except as described in the Remote Access section below, only one user may use the copies on the licensed device at a time.

      • You may reassign a license, but not on a short-term basis (i.e., not within 90 days of the last assignment).  If you reassign a license, the device to which you reassign the license becomes the new licensed device for that license.

    • Portable Device.  You may install a copy on a portable device for use by the single primary user of the licensed device.

HOWEVER, please note that under the terms of the Microsoft Student Agreement, ALL Microsoft resellers are only permitted to sell students ONE license and ONE set of installation media (physical disc OR digital download) for each product.  Because of product activation technology, both the physical media kits and digital downloads only permit a couple of installations before they no longer work.  As such, please think carefully about needing a copy on a second device.  Also if you see another site advising you can have two installations without telling you about the limitations of the installation media, please check with them before you buy as their media will be exactly the same as advertised on this site – and will have exactly the same limitations!

Microsoft has developed a range of licensing options specifically designed to meet the unique demands of the education community, including students and teachers. The following are eligible to acquire Microsoft academic product licences. Microsoft reserves the right to review the status of any customer or proposed customer as a qualified educational user.

  • Full and part time faculty and staff of a government recognised/accredited educational institution

  • Full- and part-time matriculated students of a government recognised/accredited educational establishment

Unfortunately we cannot accept orders without appropriate proof of eligibility.  Some examples follow:

PRIMARY/SECONDARY STUDENTS

The email address is the least important.  A good example of id would be a letter from the School specifically referencing your child.  We appreciate that students from Primary & Secondary education do not necessarily have student id cards as in HE/FE but if they have some form of LA/School id card then a copy of that would also be acceptable.

HE/FE STUDENTS

The email address is the least important.  A good example of id would be a copy of your NUS Card.  If you have yet to start University or College, a copy of your acceptance letter would also be suitable.

TEACHING STAFF

The email address is the least important.  A good example of id would be a letter from the School or Local Authority specifically referencing your employment as a member of Teaching Staff at a particular institution.

HOME EDUCATED CHILDREN

The email address is the least important.  We understand there are few methods of formal clarification/confirmation available in relation to children that are home educated.  If no such form of id exists, please submit a letter with your home address, naming the child(ren) that are home educated and you are purchasing on behalf of, and sign to that effect.  This will place the onus on you (the parent/guardian) to enter into agreement with us on this basis.
